The Madeira Sky Race is a technical mountain race which consists of steep slopes and trails (3600D+), a highly technical degree competition within the field of Skyrunning sports.
This race is comprised of some passages which required technical climbing expertise of grade 2 set in a mountain scenery, surrounded both by mountainous and sea cliffs landscapes. The distinct natural landscapes, combined with the diversified biodiversity and geodiversity resources that embodies this race are some of the features that makes Santana one of the most spectacular locations for this sort of sport event.

MANDATORY EQUIPMENT
Race bib (supplied by the organization) to be placed on the chest or abdomen of the athlete and visible during the entire race
Backpack or similar for the transport of equipment
Water reservoir or equivalent with a minimum capacity of 1 liter (for MSR) or 0,5l (for SSR)
Thermal blanket (min. 140 x 200 cm)
Waterproof jacket with hood and long sleeve that fits the athlete
Operational mobile phone to receive and make calls
Food reserve
Whistle
Cup of 12cl minimum (the organization will not supply cups at refreshment stations)
