The Santana Sky Race is a skyrunning experience that challenges you to climb up the outstanding mountainous sceneries of the village of Santana, in a competition that goes from 400 up to 1600 meters above sea level.
This competition has as main stage a mountainous ground surrounded by magnificent sceneries which will lead you up to the highest summit of this race at Achada do Teixeira, passing through agricultural terraces and forestry parks along the heart of the luscious Laurel forest, nominated world natural heritage by UNESCO, an area located between Pico das Pedras and Queimadas.
This multifaceted technical terrain race is comprised by steep slopes and trails that involve abrupt ascents and descents turning it into an exciting competition that invites you to overcome this intermediate degree race that has as starting and finishing point the Santana Town Hall.

Race bib (supplied by the organization) to be placed on the chest or abdomen of the athlete and visible during the entire race
Backpack or similar for the transport of equipment
Water reservoir or equivalent with a minimum capacity of 1 liter (for MSR) or 0,5l (for SSR)
Thermal blanket (min. 140 x 200 cm)
Waterproof jacket with hood and long sleeve that fits the athlete
Operational mobile phone to receive and make calls
Food reserve
Whistle
Cup of 12cl minimum (the organization will not supply cups at refreshment stations)
