The Santana Vertical Kilometer® (SVK) race begins near the Vale da Lapa area, at an altitude of approximately 780m, in the heart of the Laurissilva forest, a UNESCO World Natural Heritage site.
The entire course takes place within the Madeira Natural Park, in protected ecosystems that are part of the ecological network known as Natura 2000. This network aims to ensure biodiversity by conserving natural habitats, as well as wild fauna and flora, across the European Union.
The final part of the course consists of a highly technical and demanding climb that culminates at an iconic point known as Encumeada Alta (1785m) in the Central Mountain Massif. From there, participants can enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the island's highest peaks.
The course spans 4.8 kilometers with 1003 meters of positive elevation gain, offering participants the chance to take in the splendid and unique views of Madeira Island and experience the beauty of nature at its finest.

- The bib will be provided by the organization and must be worn on the front of the athlete, remaining visible throughout the entire course.
